Hi Robert.

Please note the following ... I mention it is an excelent tool.

You released the tool in binary format to the Clarion community, making each and every one that downloaded it and used it, MORALLY your client. If you don't want them your client, then you release the source code as well, THEN only can you claim they are not your clients, or if you don't want the obligation, you don't release something like this at all.

I asked you a specific question about the release of IQXML for Clarion 6.3 and your response was that you are NOT going to release a C6.3 version untill you are happy with Clarion as supplied by Softvelocity.

I even emailed you and offered to compile it ON YOUR BEHALF if you did not want to install C6.3, and YOU REFUSED the offer. That makes you MORALLY RESPONSABLE for the lack of updates to the tool YOU put in the clarion community, be it free or not.

I reported that I could not get an update to the tool, I also reported your responce to me when I requested an update, and I reported my reaction to that.

If you feel that I bitched about it, maybe you should ask yourself, who was responsible for creating the situation in the first place. I stand by what I said, and if you have a problem with that, I don't want to debate this any more on this forum.

Send me an email in private if you feel you need to sort this out with me or if you want me to change any wording. (Which you should have done in the first place, instead of attracting attention to my posting and then maybe getting more people agreeing with me than with you.)

I still feel this is a great tool, and I was thinking of trying it again in the future, but I see that you don't want to take ownership of your own products, so I can not risk my future and my client's futures on a product that the producer does not even want to take responsibility for.

Please email me in private if you want to continue this.

Kind Regards

Unbelievable. I just read this and I am dumb-founded.

> It’s a pity Robert Paresi refuses to re-compile IQXML in C6.3 ... (first me satisfied by SV before my clients satisfied by me) ...

iQ-XML is a FREE piece of software. Using the words "before my clients satisfied by me" is unwarranted. No one using iQ-XML is a client of mine, as I wrote this application specifically for myself and then put it up on the web absolutely free of charge, asking absolutely nothing in return. If I charged for iQ-XML, I would treat this application differently. But, the reason I did not do this was because I have a huge application made up of 23+ DLL's as well as three other applications which I maintain and support for my 'real' clients. Downloading an unusable Clarion6 update just so I can release iQ-XML for free, so that I can spend a lot of time away from doing what my company/job actually does, is not what I want to do or in my best interest.

iQ-XML is of great value even at hundreds of dollars, but I charge nothing at all for it - it is JUST a hobby of mine.

It's amazing that you bitched about something publically you never even paid for.

Looking forward to seeing you all tonight.. One day we need to try and have a social event where we decide upfront that there will no "shop talk".. Or maybe we can penalize shop talk with having to drink more beer .. Are we ever going to see the VCS tool I heard rumors about Ben?? All the best mate, see you later... Look forward to meeting the family..
